Virgin Gloves
Ash Hatcher knew he had made it to the top when he was hired to be a publicist for a multi-million dollar boxing promotion. What he didn't expect was to fall in love with their star fighter. Homosexuality is a forbidden topic in the sport of prizefighting. Fearful of losing his job, Ash tries to hide the relationship from his new employers. While carefully walking the line between paranoia and success, he stumbles upon a series of unusual characters who suggest that his new found prodigy fighter is merely a prop dangled aloft for the hope of generating one main event bout on national television. Once they have captured the spotlight, all of his secrets will come pouring out of the closet. Virgin Gloves has appeared in Boxing Digest, The Orlando Weekly, The Enterprise and on the cover of The Carver Reporter. It has been called, "Amazing!" by The New Haven Advocate. Ring Magazine stated that "Hutchinson has a sly sense of humor and a real affinity for the sport of boxing." Novelist Bill Ectric called it "Ingenious!" Boxing writer Donald McRae said, "It's about time that someone had the courage to talk about the gay underbelly of the sport."
